Photography & Video Shoots

The Portland Japanese Garden reviews requests for photography and video shoots on a case-by-case basis. Because work in the Garden by the gardening staff is a year-round necessity and because the Garden hosts many events, dates available for shooting are extremely limited.

General Rules

• Only shoot dates from November-March are considered
• Fees start at a minimum of $500 and are based on the type and length of the shoot, number of people involved, and demands placed on the Garden
  • Fee is determined by the Garden after review of application
• A Garden employee will accompany shoot crew at all times when they are in the Garden
• The Garden reserves the right to deny any shoot requests at any time
• Those requesting a shoot date at the Garden must complete a Photography and Video Shoot Application (below)
  • The Garden operations staff reviews and approves or denies applications
    • Applicants will be advised of the status of their application and fees required (if request is approved) within 14 days of submitting the application
