Visitor Policies

To maintain a beautiful and tranquil environment for all, please note:

  • The Garden is a smoke-free environment. Cell phone and electronic game use is not allowed.
  • Please, no food or drink in the Garden except water. There is no restaurant or cafe on site.
  • Pets are not allowed. (Trained assistance animals for visitors with disabilities are welcome.)
  • Accessibility: Disabled permit parking is available. May-September, a free shuttle bus assists visitors from the parking lot to the Admission Gate. Wheelchairs are not provided.
  • Personal, non-professional photography is allowed. Portrait photography is not allowed.

  • Garden facilities are not available for weddings, wedding receptions, or commitment ceremonies.

Admission

Your admission includes access to the Garden, the Garden Gift Store, and when offered, public tours and exhibitions. (Some special events are not included with admission. For more information, please see the events page.)

Visitor Hours

The Garden is open to visitors seven days a week year-round, closing only on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day.

Winter Season (October 1—March 31)

Summer Season (April 1—September 30)

  • Noon-7 p.m. Monday
  • 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Tuesday–Sunday

Tours

Guided Public Tours

No additional charge with paid admission

April through October, guided tours of the Garden are offered at 10:45 a.m., 1 p.m., and 2:30 p.m. daily. November through March, tours are offered at 1pm on weekends only. Please note, the Garden is not open for a 10:45 a.m. tour on Mondays, except on certain holidays.

Public tours are generally 45 minutes to one hour, outdoors, and on foot. Visitors may join or leave the public tour at any time—no reservations necessary.

Private Group Tours

We ask private tours and school groups to make a reservation in advance—discounted rates and personal tour guides are provided for qualifying groups. For details, please visit the tour page.

Free Shuttle

A free shuttle bus from our parking lot to the Admission Gate operates daily from June–August and weekends only the rest of the year.
