Toru Watanabe

Toru is a renowned folk dance artist and performer. He began performing and choreographing in college for Yassokoi Team. In 2001, Toru became a performing member of Warabi-za, one of Japan's foremost folk dance performing groups based in the northern prefecture of Akita. He has appeared in three original musical productions and was an organizer and head teacher in Warabi-za's in-house residency program for youth. Watanabe performed over 200 times per year throughout Japan as well as choreographed dances for musicals at various local community theatre groups (students groups and adult community groups).
